I think that Goofy_Moe makes an excellent point. You have made multiple posts in the recent past stating that you are going to quit DPF in so many weeks or here is my re-introduction to DPF. It looks bad to new members. DPF is an excellent resource and I think the more that join the better. But if I were new I would be potentially put off by some of these threads. And whether you made a big deal out of it or not, you knew that by posting such a title that you would get a flood of responses saying "dont' go" "we'll miss you" or "big hugs" because that's what has happened in the past every time you've made a thread like this. So although you may not think so, it comes across as though you are starved for attention.
Actually, I think Alexa's only done it once. There have been a few other members who post once every month or two saying they are leaving, selling all their inventory, and then a month later (or even a week later) come back wanting to buy pins and seeing if people will sell at cost, etc.
I've been here for over a year now and there's one member that I remember seeing quitting at least 4-6 times since I've been here. As a new member, I certainly wasn't put off of it. I actually think it might spur sales, visits to threads, etc (because one wants to see if one can get a good deal!)
Alexa, don't leave! I've tried PMing you, but it didn't work... I wanted to respond to your last PM, but my charger for my computer died and I couldn't get it replaced until just now. Could you PM me your e-mail address please, or some other way to connect with you? You really seem like a great person, and I appreciate your help in getting me, my mom and my sister some pins that we really love. Thanks so much for all you've done for pin trading! I'd like to help take some of your traders off your hands, and put some money in your pocket before you leave. Thanks, Alexa!
I've been a member of DPF for about 3-4 months now and have seen several members make multiple posts proclaiming that they are quitting forever... and then they come back the next week (or in some cases, the next day).
Alexa is NOT one of those people.
Although she does post a lot of threads, they are mostly sale posts, or photos. This is the only one I've seen in which she says she is quitting DPF.
You know what? Don't even take my word for it. Go to her profile right now, and click on her "Latest started threads." This is the only post she's made stating her decision to quit.
If I were a brand new member, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest to see another person quitting the forum... but I would be extremely disturbed seeing other members publicly attack her and call her an attention whore because of it.
I tried to PM you my address and it wouldn't let me. It said that you either turned off the option to receive PMs and I think that it might be because your inbox is full. Try clearing it or something so I can PM you my address
People need to get off her case and get over it. Stop acting like you're in high school.(I should know, I'm in freaking high school.) anyways, back to the sales thread. Just needed to get that off my chest because Alexa's an amazing member and if she's choosing to leave, that's all there is to it.
I just want to say alot of people pn here are so rude to one another. Alexa is a wonderful person I have meet her in person and she has a heart of gold, She has gone above and beyond for everyone she will do what she can to get people pins they want, Yeah it may take her a few days to get pins out to you or answer a PM but last time I checked people have lives other then here. Some of us work and have kids and have housework and personal stuff going on. I am guilty I do not always get pins out the same day or even the day after. I so far have not had any issues here on the forum. I think sometimes people have to rethink themselves and just remember this is a hobby this is something we all enjoy doing. I have said this before my 15 year old daughter who is not a pin collector likes to remind me about pins they are a piece of metel with paint on them. Some of us forget the great friendships we can develop and all help each other like Alexa. She is not out to hurt anyone or take advantage of anyone. cant we all just get along. :hug:
