DSF Ironman Update
I thought you were boycotting DSF. The early line up doesn't bother me as much, but if they gave out more than the 100 wristbands they were supposed to hand out, it makes it pointless to try to go to the afternoon lineup. They've effectively encourage the breaking of their own rules. Why make the rules at all?
I still haven't gone back since the Beloved Tales, so I've been doing a decent job of boycotting DSF so far. Obviously, I'm thinking about going back now, but it's a lot easier to make excuses not to go than to rearrange my schedule so I can go.
I don't care for the pins as much as some people and I could take it or leave it, based on the pins. I do enjoy the people though, as I love just listening to all the conversations and enjoying the generally fun atmosphere.
And you are right. DSF constantly finds ways to last minute modify their rules. But in this case, what's the point of having those people wait around off property? EVERYONE, including their own security staff, must have told them that a TON of people were going to show up for this release. But management seems to be either in denial or delights in the amount of people who show up for their product. It was far safer, and probably a strong recommendation by the police (who I heard were out there again), to disperse the crowd by handing out the second batch of 100 wristbands.
I'm a proponent of safety and it is a large reason why I won't go back until they figure out how to better manage their lines, eliminate their lines, or just come up with policies that make it safe for those people who want to buy their product. I've preached that they need to either drastically raise the LE sizes on all their known popular characters (which by sales numbers and time to sell out should give them a BIG clue) or go to a lottery system so they won't have to worry about lines all over the place off property.
