If we're going to hype it, we might as well hype it.

I'm thinking it's going to be more like Brave than Tangled. Starts out super hot, but calms way down after people realize they didn't like the movie as much as they thought they would and other reasons that end up make people put a collection on the back burner or give it up.

I think these will be great to have as traders. Elsa is the only character that appeals to me right now and I think, as far as collecting, I'll only be hunting down the 17" Elsa doll to keep :)
 
I love Elsa, Olaf and the reindeer Swen. I'd like to be a completist. I love Snow and this would make an excellent winter pin picture, but if I can't acquire every pin, I'm not going to stress.
 
Like all my mini collections, I'll collect the ones I like providing they aren't stupid money. I have a friend picking up a set of DLRP ones for me of which I hope to have traders of. I'd quite like the marquee but I ain't paying $200 for it. What happens if the movie is actually rubbish?
 
I don't care about being a completest, but I do want to collect Anna, while my older sister wants to collect Elsa. :) If we see the movie and don't like it, then we just trade or sell any pins we accumulated up until then.
 
I have not been collecting long enough to know what the Brave craze looked like. Was it the same?

The appeal of Frozen for me are the princesses. I particularly love Elsa in her blue dress and think that will make for some really pretty pins. The story line looks good. I enjoyed Brave and really liked Merida but she seemed more like a younger child to me. Maybe because they did not include the love story aspect? I am not familiar with the Snow Queen storyline but since Frozen has two young male leads I'm assuming there will be a romantic aspect. I came into pin trading well after Rapunzel blew up and was not willing to spend the big bucks to collect her although I probably would've had I been there from the beginning.
 
I'm personally really excited for frozen. I've been following it was first ever announced.

I already feel like I connect with Elsa and Anna, both in different ways. I love all the characters we've seen so far. I love the look of the movie, the music we've heard snippets of and the story in general. I personally would like to be a Frozen completist for pins with Anna, Elsa, Sven, Kristoff and Hans in, (sorry olaf) just because these are the characters I love most at the moment! I'll probably end up wanting to collect Olaf too. I just know I will love the movie. It's just everything I love. There isn't any Disney movies I don't love though....so I doubt i'll come out of the cinema hating it when this is the movie I have been most excited for ever that Disney has released. :lol:

I'm really worried about Pin prices, as I can't afford to spend more then $80 on the Anna+elsa, Sven+Kristoff and Marquee pin :( they'd just mean so much to me! I've literally sold off 70% of my Disney collection to save up for all the Frozen LE merchandise i'd like to own (dolls etc.) But being a poor student, I can't really afford to blow big money on 1 pin as I have no job yet! :(
 
I'm excited to watch the movie, mainly because of the scenery and setting. I don't have any proper opinions on the characters yet, as not much has been shown personality wise.

I will not be collecting pins from this movie, I will be buying Frozen pins to use as traders hopefully though.

I feel like I am in a "sticky situation" here. I want to get all of the Frozen pins coming out in hope that they will me great traders. The problem for though is because I live in NYC I can only get them on the secondary market which leaves me a huge risk of loosing money (of course I can always make).

When Tangled came out, the pins were very cheap, no one had much desire for them. With Frozen, everyone just assumes it is going to be as big as Tangled but that will be a long shot. Frozen will have to be an INCREDIBLE movie to live up to the hype it already has gotten. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see..
 
frozen will teach us all a good lesson:::buy the pins before its too late:: they are much more progressive and hotter than the typical princesses pins

Then it'll become another Brave ^_^ Brave was pretty hyped up being the first Disney princess after Rapunzel (and she was Pixar too so people really thought the movie was going to be perfection), but as it turned out, it was just all right to most (some really did and still do love it which is fine) so the prices dropped and nowadays Brave is a fairly decent trader, but nothing close to the reigning princesses (Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle, Aurora).

However i am going to start out trying to get all of them. I dont want to be stuck like i was wth Tangled. I didnt start out collecting them, and so when I later realized how wonderful the movie was, it was impossible to get them all.

This time, I will try to get them all right away, and IF i end up not wanting to collect, I can trade or sell them off. However, i dont see that happening. so far i have enjoyed every trailer, and the story of 2 sisters seems like a good addition to my collection since i DO have 2 daughters, and 3 sisters.

I'm looking forward to a beautiful film - I love Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen and I am excited to see what Disney does with the story line. I am looking forward to a story about redemption and unfailing love and believe that such a tale will resonate with people. I will collect the Frozen pins, but have no illusion of becoming a 'completest' - I have too many other collections going to concentrate on just the Frozen pins! I am not going to worry myself over 'future value'. The artwork for the film is gorgeous and I intend to keep the pins in my collection and enjoy! Thanks for starting this thread - it seems as though people have already formed very definite opinions of this film! Very interesting:D

did you see the new trailer on yahoo? It's exciting Anna and Kris are being chased by wolves fleeing in their sleigh led by Swen. Will they make it when the mountains split?
 
Until I see the movie, I'm only interested in Sven (reindeer) and the horses. I saw a Fjord pony in one scene!! A must have, if they make any horse pins from Frozen.

I'm rarely into human (princesses and the like) pins, so, if happen upon any for trading, I'll pick them up.
 
From what I've seen, I love Anna and Sven and I love a classic fairytale, so I'd love to collect them all! If I only ended up with Anna pins though, I wouldn't be too bummed. My friends tell me I act a lot like her, so I feel a connection. And Sven reminds me of my late golden retriever, so any small connection I can get with him makes me happy :)
 
I am going to start out trying to be a completist. I really want to collect the pins because I like the sound of the movie and its emphasis on sisters. I love my sister with all of my heart, and I really believe I am going to relate to the movie and characters.

If I don't, I'll just trade the pins :)
 
I find it HILARIOUS some people are like "oh yeah can't wait to collect Frozen" and then can't even spell the characters' names right? Like, if that isn't ridiculous hyping, I don't know what is. You clearly aren't interested in the movie if you don't even know the character's names.... just saying.

I'm interested in collecting Elsa, but really only Elsa by herself. But so far I haven't seen any I like, other than that one starter pack pin. I would also be interested in Hans but so far...nothing! I know I will love Anna and Kristoph too, but I think a lot of Anna's designs are repetitive thus far, so I'm not too interested as of right now. The dolls on the other hand are another story. I'm dying to have them!!

Honestly, we won't know anything until the movie comes out officially. I mean, who can tell 100% what's going to happen? There are so many things that could :)

I have been obsessed with this movie since it was announced :lol:

I love both Hans and Kristoff I cant pick between who I like better anymore :lol:

Guess i'll find out after the movie :p
